To fix a sagging door, tighten every hinge screw, then replace one loose top-hinge screw with a longer screw that reaches the framing. If the door still drops, support it, shim the hinge, or adjust the strike plate. Stop if the frame is cracked, the hinges are bent, or the door remains misaligned after reinforcement.
To repair chipped paint, remove loose flakes, feather the edge with fine sandpaper, fill any exposed dip with spackle or patching compound, let it dry, sand it flush, spot-prime bare areas, and apply matching paint. Test the color and sheen first. Stop and investigate if the paint keeps peeling, the wall feels damp, or the substrate is damaged.

Turn the thermostat down, let the heater cool, and switch off the circuit breaker before vacuuming. Remove only covers designed to come off, clean dust with a brush attachment, wipe surfaces with a barely damp cloth, and dry everything completely. Never spray liquid into the heater or bend its fins. This applies to electric and hot-water baseboard units.
To fix uneven paint, let the surface dry completely, identify whether the problem is color, texture, or sheen, then sand raised areas and remove all dust. Prime stains, repairs, or bare patches before repainting the entire wall or defined section with a properly loaded roller. Stop if the wall is damp, peeling extensively, or the finish stays uneven after preparation.
To remove rust from bare cast iron, scrub the rusty areas with steel wool or a cast-iron rust eraser, then wash with warm soapy water. Rinse, dry immediately and completely, and apply a very thin coat of cooking oil before re-seasoning according to the pan or oil maker’s instructions. Stop if you find cracks, deep corrosion or damaged enamel.
